The History of Future Folk

Weird, sweet, low budget romantic sci-fi fairy tale comedy with music. As Dee Snider says in the movie, “I can guarantee you’ve never seen anything like it before, and you’ll never see anything like it again.” And yes, I’m talking about Dee Snider from Twisted Sister. I mention him because I don’t know any of the other actors in the film, and I’m guessing you won’t either. They all did a fine job, though they were pretty low energy. It turns out that the lead actor is actually a musical composer, and this is his first and only acting credit.

I’m not sure what the title means, but the story is pretty simple and clear. Though the premise is out there, the film itself is put together in a conventional manner.

I know I’m not telling you much, but that’s because the main pleasure I found in the movie was it’s unusual story. It’s not filled with amazing special effects or great dialog. It’s just a pleasant quirky film I think you should see… so I give it a YES.
