The Gilmore Girls (2016)

Yay! Fans of the original series get more. Four long episodes taking place 10 years later and set over the course of a year, one for each season. Everyone is back except Edward Herrmann (Lorelai’s father), who passed away. Though he’s still represented in a sweet way. Rory gets to interact with all of her past boyfriends, Lorelai and Luke are still together, everyone in the town is still quirky and colorful. As is the town itself.
Not really any surprises, but we didn’t really want any, did we? The focus seems to be a little more on Rory and what she’s doing or should be doing or wants to be doing with her life, but it was always kinda like that. No, the sweet, successful formula has not been messed with.
If you’re a fan of the show, this is very much recommended. If you’ve never seen it, watch the entire series, it’s a good use of your time. You won’t like this arc without seeing the show.

Was it worth it?

Sweetly, yes.
