This film got a lot of acclaim and I don’t understand why. It feels like a seminar on intricate shady wall street practices. I guess there are some political messages tossed in there too, but they went over my head. Actually, the whole film went over my head. I didn’t get any of it. I don’t even know if it is supposed to be funny or serious. Who are they preaching to? Me? What am I supposed to do? Not buy stocks? Put my money in my mattress? Vote for a particular political party? Buy low, sell high? I guess I just cannot identify with anything presented.
The Big Short also includes quirky performances by well known actors like Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Steve Carell, but they are portrayals I’d just as soon forget.
