Sarah Silverman: A Speck of Dust

I’ve always liked Sarah Silverman; she’s intelligent, a little wacky, and very funny. I’ve based this opinion, however, exclusively on her acting roles and talk show appearances. This was my first experience watching her do stand up.

This Netflix exclusive special did not disappoint me. Though if the “shock” of hearing women say curse words and discuss bodily functions upsets your sensibilities, you should probably avoid this. About half her jokes (fewer than most comedians out there) fall into those categories, but dang, they’re funny. And more often than not, she’s insightful and pointed in what she chooses to say. Her last bit, though on the surface “gross”, is one of the most amazing indictments of homophobia and the hypocrisy of organized religion that I have witnessed.

A big “yes” for one of the funniest people in show business.
